Dragon Kill Strategy in Enshrouded
To safely take on a dragon in Enshrouded, the primary objective is to avoid positioning yourself on the edge of the crater, as this is a lethal trap. Instead, select a suitable spot on the opposite side of the fissure. You should bring substantial gear, including at least one high-quality pickaxe, your most potent bow, and plenty of arrows; while lesser arrows might suffice if you are prepared for a long engagement, good quality gear is recommended for efficiency.
Preparation and Setup
Before engaging, proper preparation is essential. This involves two main tasks:
- Establish a Firing Platform: Clear and create a comfortable, elevated area from which to shoot at the dragon.
- Create a Shelter/Den: Dig out a den, preferably beneath a large rock located on the side opposite the crater, which will serve as a refuge from the dragon's breath attacks when it flies near your position.
The Combat Sequence
The combat strategy relies on exploiting the dragon's movements over the crater. When the dragon is circling above the crater, it poses minimal threat (aside from potentially blowing you off your position; having rocks behind you helps mitigate this risk). From your established firing platform, begin shooting, aiming for the head if possible, though shots to any part of the dragon are effective if you have an ample supply of arrows.
Reaction ProtocolWhen the dragon flies towards your location, immediately retreat into the den you prepared. This shelter is designed to protect you from the dragon's attacks, including its breath.
Post-Combat
Once the dragon is defeated, you can proceed with looting.
