Farming in Enshrouded is mostly about knowing which biome each plant grows in and whether you can replant it after harvesting. Almost every plant listed can be grown from seed, with two exceptions: hazelnut in the Revelwood and the yellow mushroom found in the Shroud (specifically the Albaneve Summits) cannot be planted. If you want a steady supply of a crop, gather it in its home biome first, then use the seeds or planting material to start your own plot at a base. The tables below group every plant by biome so you can plan a gathering run, followed by notes on planting and a few related luminous building blocks that come from plant materials.
Plant Locations by Biome
Springlands
The starting biome, called Springlands here, is where several basic crops grow. Corn is associated with the Harvest Home location, and tomato can be found near Woodgard, close to the Harvest Home as well.
| Plant | Where to find it | Plantable |
|---|---|---|
| Grass fiber | Any biome | Yes |
| Porcini mushroom | Springlands | Yes |
| Purple berries | Springlands | Yes |
| Corn | Springlands, Harvest Home | Yes |
| Tomato | Springlands, Woodgard near Harvest Home | Yes |
| Aureolin | Springlands | Yes |
Revelwood
Revelwood is the richest biome for farmable crops, covering chamomile, indigo, flax, nettle, beet and strawberry. Hazelnut also grows here but cannot be planted, so treat it as a forage-only resource.
| Plant | Where to find it | Plantable |
|---|---|---|
| Chamomile | Revelwood | Yes |
| Hazelnut | Revelwood | No |
| Indigo | Revelwood | Yes |
| Flax | Revelwood | Yes |
| Nettle | Revelwood | Yes |
| Beet | Revelwood | Yes |
| Strawberry | Revelwood | Yes |
Nomad Highlands
The Nomad Highlands supply wheat, pepper, sage, aloe, rooibos and sugar cane. Wheat is tied to the Loot Barn location, so head there if you need a reliable patch to harvest.
| Plant | Where to find it | Plantable |
|---|---|---|
| Wheat | Nomad Highlands, Loot Barn | Yes |
| Pepper | Nomad Highlands | Yes |
| Sage | Nomad Highlands | Yes |
| Aloe | Nomad Highlands | Yes |
| Rooibos | Nomad Highlands | Yes |
| Sugar cane | Nomad Highlands | Yes |
Kindlewastes
In the Kindlewastes you can gather saffron, devil's claw and the Kindlewastes flower. Devil's claw is associated with the Rose-Shell Burrow, and yucca fruit is harvested from the palm trees growing in this biome.
| Plant | Where to find it | Plantable |
|---|---|---|
| Saffron | Kindlewastes | Yes |
| Devil's claw | Kindlewastes, Rose-Shell Burrow | Yes |
| Kindlewastes flower | Kindlewastes | Yes |
| Yucca fruit | Kindlewastes, harvested from palms | Yes |
Albaneve Summits
The Albaneve Summits are home to gentian, aconite and pumpkin, with pumpkin linked to the Twisting Creek Farm. Two special cases sit here: the yellow mushroom grows inside the Shroud and cannot be planted, while the azure russula appears in the Shroud and also in caves.
| Plant | Where to find it | Plantable |
|---|---|---|
| Gentian | Albaneve Summits | Yes |
| Aconite | Albaneve Summits | Yes |
| Pumpkin | Albaneve Summits, Twisting Creek Farm | Yes |
| Yellow mushroom | In the Shroud, Albaneve Summits | No |
| Azure russula | In the Shroud, also in caves | Yes |
How to Start Farming
- Unlock and place a base near a biome that contains the crops you want, since travel time matters when you are gathering planting material.
- Gather the plant in its home biome. Note the exceptions: hazelnut and the yellow mushroom cannot be planted, so only harvest them for direct use.
- Use the planting option on valid ground at your base to sow the crop. The source lists almost every plant as plantable, so most gathered crops can become a renewable farm.
- Harvest, then replant from the yield to keep the cycle going without returning to the wild.
Plant-Derived Light Blocks
A few luminous building blocks are tied to plant gathering and processing:
- Yellow luminous block: obtained while gathering saffron, which grows in the Kindlewastes.
- Blue glowing block: made from glowing growth.
- Green luminous block: made from purified slime; the mineral for it comes from the Halls of the Dead, specifically poisonous slime processed in the Ectoplasm Press.
- White glowing block: made from a white glowing substance that can be produced at the alchemist.
If your goal is a self-sustaining base, prioritize the biome-specific crops you use most and replant them immediately after each harvest. Forage-only items such as hazelnut and the yellow mushroom will always require a trip into their native biome, so stock up whenever you pass through Revelwood or the Shroud.
