To unlock the Vested Pack Owl, obtain its habitat, find a Gilded Toadstool, and reach the owl in Nocturne Forest during Term 2/Summer. Offer the owl the toadstool, build its habitat in the Garden, and it becomes your pet the following day, adding 24 inventory slots.

- Vested Pack Owl Habitat
- One Gilded Toadstool
- Access to Nocturne Forest
- A Potion of Fungal Transmutation to pass through the Cave of Questions
- Spore Neutraliser Potions are advisable for exploring Nocturne Forest; the exact requirement is uncertain, so carrying about two is recommended.
Get the Vested Pack Owl Habitat
The habitat is obtained separately from the other pet habitats. It is associated with Codrin’s Ochre Woods quest, Fairy Ring, and can be placed in the Garden.
Get a Gilded Toadstool
Gilded Toadstools can be obtained through these methods:
- Use a Potion of the Mole in a mole hill. The relevant mole hills are near the Flute Maker and near the ferry crossing at the western end of Ochre Woods.
- Complete
The Cursed Toadat the toad pond in the southwestern Cypress Foothills. - Put ten unique fish in Florian’s chest in the bookshop in Wisk.
Find and recruit the owl
- Reach Term 2/Summer and gain access to Nocturne Forest.
- Bring a Potion of Fungal Transmutation so you can pass through the Cave of Questions.
- Explore Nocturne Forest and look for the Vested Pack Owl wandering in the area.
- Offer the owl a Gilded Toadstool.
- Build the Vested Pack Owl Habitat in the Garden.
- Wait until the next day. The owl will then be your pet and provide 24 additional inventory spaces.
Do not confuse the two owls
The Vested Pack Owl is not the owl found in the Shifting Spires. They are separate owls with different purposes.
