To unlock fast travel in Songs of Glimmerwick, find the griffin during Summer, give it a Gilded Toadstool, and build its habitat in the Garden. The griffin becomes available for fast travel the following day. You can then use the bells around Glimmerwick to call the griffin and travel between bell locations.
Unlock the griffin
- Progress to Summer and complete or reach the part of Clover's Mole Adventures quest that gives you access to the Potion of the Mole.
- Obtain a Griffin Habitat schematic from the Creatures Workshop class in Term 2. The earliest reported access is Summer, on Tuesday the 3rd.
- Gather Thistle for the habitat. Thistle becomes available during and after the camping trip to Bellian Moor on Saturday the 7th and Sunday the 8th.
- Place the Griffin Habitat at the Garden.
- Use the Potion of the Mole to enter the molehill behind the toad pond in the south-west of the Cypress Foothills. This leads to the griffin during and after Mole Adventures.
- Offer the griffin a Gilded Toadstool, then build its habitat.
- Wait until the next day. The griffin's fast-travel service will then be available.
Get a Gilded Toadstool
Gilded Toadstools can be obtained from several sources:
- Use a Potion of the Mole at a molehill near the Flute Maker or near the ferry crossing at the west end of Ochre Woods.
- Complete The Cursed Toad at the toad pond in the south-west of the Cypress Foothills and claim the reward from the toads.
- Put ten unique fish in Florian's chest in the bookshop in Wisk.
Use the bells for fast travel
- Locate a bell at one of the available destinations.
- Interact with the bell to call your griffin.
- Select another bell destination to travel there.
Early shortcut to the Garden
In Spring, completing Clover's market-stall scheme, Clover's Calamity, rewards you with a strange green gem. Take the gem to the statue on the right side of the Common Room at campus. When the gem reacts near the statue, add it to the statue to unlock the Ghost Treasure quest and a shortcut between the Common Room and the Garden. This route eventually also gives you access to the Garden shed.
