Automatic Achievements in Over The Hill

Many achievements in Over The Hill can be unlocked simply by playing the game without consciously tracking them. Before diving into a pursuit of 100% completion, it is recommended to enjoy the experience. For tracking your progress on specific challenges, check the in-game achievements menu.

Automatic Progression Achievements

A number of early and basic achievements are unlocked automatically simply by progressing in the game:

  • Finishing the tutorial.
  • Teleporting to any cabin you have unlocked, which is available from the very start of the game by accessing your map and clicking the icon of an already visited cabin.
  • Purchasing any upgrade on any vehicle; this is possible right from the start of the game after picking up a crate.
  • Installing any cosmetic item on any vehicle; this is achievable from the very beginning after picking up a crate.
  • Jumping off a cliff; if the achievement does not unlock, it likely means the jump was not high enough.

Collection and Interaction Achievements

These achievements require specific collection or interaction tasks:

  • Picking up 100 pebbles by engaging in trails or collecting crates.
  • Picking up 1000 pebbles by engaging in trails or collecting crates.
  • Towing your first vehicle, which is possible on the first map, with the vehicle located in the southwest.
  • Restoring your vehicle after overturning using the winches.
  • Returning your vehicle after being flipped over using the winches.
  • Using your first tool by selecting the left box in the center of the radial menu and using a tool.
  • Finishing your first course; there are multiple courses available on every map.
  • Completing a trail without damaging your vehicle; several such trails exist on each map.
  • Unlocking 6 vehicles, which is achieved by collecting crates, completing routes, and visiting cabins.
  • Reaching a panoramic viewpoint, which is available on all maps.
  • Discovering 20 points of interest or crates across all maps combined.
  • Equipping 5 cosmetics simultaneously. This requires finding several crates, returning to the mechanic, and equipping 5 cosmetics from five different categories (e.g., front bumper, rear, roof).
  • Taking a photo of your first animal: Open the radial menu, select the camera icon at the top, and aim at an animal until the frame turns green.
  • Finding the portal connecting the first and second maps; it is located near the lake.
  • Extracting your first meteorite: The easiest method is to use the tool at the mechanic’s place, which displays the direction of the meteorite fall at the top of the screen. Alternatively, search for a heavily lit area (easier at night). Once found, attach it to your winch and pull it out.

Distance and Environmental Achievements

Several achievements are tied to driving specific distances under varying conditions:

  • Driving 100km automatically.
  • Driving 1000km automatically.
  • Driving 50km outside of mapped paths automatically.
