To complete the five major side quests, finish them in this order: Hired Muscle, Secrets of the Underground, Rescuing a Succubus, Forbidden Fortress, and Holy Chalice. Keep the Pure-White Pendant equipped for Rescuing a Succubus, and save before Secrets of the Underground because losing any of its fights leads to a bad ending.
Hired Muscle
- In Gardis, speak to the NPC with an exclamation mark on the left side of the pub.
- Talk to the NPC outside Gardis.
- Choose either response. The choice determines the reward:
| Choice | Reward |
|---|---|
| Top option | Gold Purse (M) |
| Bottom option | Arcane Crystal (M) |
Secrets of the Underground
This quest requires Hired Muscle and adds another fight before the final boss. Save before starting or before each fight, since losing any fight causes a bad ending.
- Enter the yellow-roofed house in the western part of Gardis and talk to the NPC inside.
- Go to the castle and speak with the NPC beside the King.
- At Powat's Pub, talk to Ilia at the bar.
- Choose either to join the group or fight your way through.
- Enter the underground area from the west side of the Powat map.
If you join
- Talk to the NPC blocking the western path after entering the underground.
- Choose the fight option after entering the tent.
If you force your way in
Enter the tent at the bottom-right of the map.
Afterward, return to the church and speak with the NPC in the upper-right area near the beds. You will receive the Dingy Jar, which is needed for Holy Chalice.
Rescuing a Succubus
Equip the Pure-White Pendant before entering the Succubus Forest.
- Enter Succubus Forest and go west to the next map.
- Go to the top floor and interact with the chair.
- Return to the first floor and speak with the NPC marked with an exclamation mark.
- Go upstairs again and continue to the southeastern part of the southern map.
Completing this quest unlocks Lust when the player is defeated by an enemy that has an H-scene.
Forbidden Fortress
Complete Secrets of the Underground first.
- Speak with Ilia in the castle prison.
- Return to the yellow house on the same map as the casino.
- Leave Gardis through the front exit, travel east, and enter the house there.
- Interact with the book inside the house.
- Go to the map north of the Arena. The entrance to Forbidden Fortress is there, and the quest proceeds directly once inside.
Alternative route
Take out a loan, then rest in the church bed for 11 days. You will be taken to the fortress.
Holy Chalice
Complete Secrets of the Underground and obtain the Dingy Jar from the father and daughter.
- Travel to Dodonga Volcano.
- After climbing the stairs, go east until the map changes.
- Interact with the broken altar and accept the quest.
- Give the altar the Dingy Jar.
The reward is the Astral Blade and a sorcery spell that provides 100 TP and 500 MP.
