To solve Invokyr events, read the rhyme above the board after the movement die stops, identify the event it describes, and use the matching strategy below. Collect the event’s idol when required, return to the game room, and bring it back to the board to unlock the next movement die.
Recognize the event
The rhyme announces the event after the player token stops. Monster events remain active for the rest of the game, while minigames and traps must be completed during that exploration phase.
Monster event solutions
| Event | What to do |
|---|---|
| Alligator | Keep your feet off the ground where possible. Cocoon dice and Boom dice are effective against it. |
| Carnivorous Plant | Do not sprint near the sleeping plant, or it will wake. Fire dice and Boom dice are effective. |
| Dress Mannequins | They move only when outside a player's view. Solo players should back away until the mannequin deactivates. In a group, one player can keep watching it while others move around it. Fire, Cocoon, and Boom dice are effective. |
| Huntsman | Move quietly and crouch-walk, since it is highly sensitive to sound. Fire, Cocoon, and Boom dice are effective. |
| Ice Miner | When its rope catches you, break free as quickly as possible. |
| Mimic Doors | Listen for heavy breathing before opening a door. A breathing door may be a mimic. |
| Money Man | Keep your distance and avoid displaying idols. If it sees an idol, it will pursue the holder. Fire, Cocoon, and Boom dice are effective. |
| Mummy | Avoid its line of sight and do not cross its trailing bandage. Standing on a table or box protects you from its attack. Fire, Cocoon, and Boom dice are effective. |
| Player Mimics | Stay together and watch for an impostor. Player Mimics copy a player's appearance and repeat phrases heard nearby. |
| Penguins | Do not let them remain close after their fuse activates. Pick them up and throw them into pits or at enemies; thrown penguins briefly knock targets down. |
| Sandworm | Walk quietly and avoid running, since noise attracts it. Watch for the ground rumbling before it attacks. |
| Shadow Man | Find the television producing static and turn it off. This despawns the Shadow Man temporarily. |
| Snowmen | Destroy harmless copies by throwing any object through them or running through them at close range. The aggressive copy must be killed normally; Fire, Cocoon, and Boom dice are effective. |
| Spiders | Look up at ceilings and avoid walking directly beneath spiders, which cocoon players below. |
| Yeti | Keep away from its fast pursuit. Fire, Cocoon, and Boom dice are effective. |
Minigame and trap solutions
Ballerina
Follow the spinning ballerina through the large room. Move only while she is moving; when she stops, remain still or floor spikes will rise. Retrieve the idol and return to the game room.
Chessboard
Cross the giant chessboard carefully while avoiding the moving pieces, which can crush players. Take the idol and bring it back to the board.
Dice Spawn
The board ejects several dice, and they activate immediately. Be ready for both helpful and harmful effects before approaching them.
Fire Pillar
A rapidly spinning pillar emits long jets of flame in alternating directions. Stay clear of the flames until the pillar sinks back into the floor and the event ends.
Flash Freeze
The game-room floor becomes slippery for the rest of the game. Control your movement carefully when returning with idols or approaching the board.
Mannequin Attic
Enter the upstairs attic and keep the Dress Mannequins in view while moving through the cramped area. The idols are in the back; retrieve them and return without looking away from active mannequins.
Rolling Boulder Trap
Enter the central hallway, take the idol, and immediately run back toward the game room to avoid the boulder. If the boulder kills a player, it will not spawn again the next time the idol is picked up.
Shell Game
Watch the three cards above the doors while they shuffle. Track the card showing the idol, then enter the door beneath it when the shuffle stops. The other two doors are Mimic Doors.
The Floor Is Lava
Stack 10 boxes in a 1-2-3-4 formation to reach the second floor and escape onto the balcony before the lava rises. Later lava surges continue during the game; stand on a box, table, or another raised object when you hear and see the warning effects.
Trapdoor Game
Watch the wheel on the wall to learn the safe symbol for each round. On the 5x5 floor, stand only on tiles with that symbol. Unsafe tiles become trapdoors. Survive all three rounds as the number of symbols increases.
Curses
A purple curse face on the movement die applies its effect until the next movement phase.
- Flashlight Disabled: affected players cannot use their flashlights.
- Reduced Maximum Health: affected players' maximum health is capped at 20.
- Shared Damage and Healing: damage or healing received by one player is applied to all players.
Final event: Game Completion
- Reach the center of the board to trigger the final event.
- All players are revived and teleported to the deepest part of the manor.
- Find the Game Master's Soul idol.
- Carry it back to the game room and seal it into the game board.
- Speak
Invokyrinto the microphone to finish the session.
