To farm Legendary armor in Enshrouded, use the lockpick chest in the hidden cave northeast of the map, north of the Kindlewastes Ancient Spire and east of the Nomad Highlands Ancient Spire. Place a Flame Altar close enough to protect your route but outside the chest’s reset area, open the chest, then return to the main menu and reload your save. The chest resets after reloading, allowing you to repeat the run as long as you have lockpicks.

Best Legendary armor farming route

  1. Travel to the small, dark cave northeast of the Kindlewastes Ancient Spire. It is also described as being east of the Nomad Highlands Ancient Spire.
  2. Bring a light source so you can see the cave’s first room and the wooden scaffolding.
  3. Go behind the scaffolding and locate the rubble pile.
  4. Clear the rubble with a pickaxe or explosives. The chest is behind it.
  5. Use a lockpick to open the chest and collect its randomized loot.
  6. Return to the main menu, reload the save, and repeat the route.

The chest can produce Legendary weapons as well as armor from several level 23 sets, including Gloom Monarch, Hawk, and Spellbreaker. Because armor quality is randomized, the same chest can produce Common, Rare, or Legendary equipment. Craftable armor can also appear in these chest pools, so this method is useful when you want high-quality gear without relying only on artisan recipes.

What you need before farming

  • A light source for the cave.
  • A pickaxe or explosives to remove the rubble.
  • Lockpicks. The Blacksmith can craft them for one Metal Scrap each after the recipe is unlocked.
  • A Flame Altar positioned so its protected radius does not reach the chest. The chest must remain outside the protected area for the reload reset to work.

Easier alternative chest

A second chest is located in the far southeast of Kindlewastes, near the Sun Temple and beside a patch of deadly fog. It does not require a lockpick, making it a cheaper option for repeated attempts, but its loot table is weaker than the hidden cave chest. This chest is associated with the relocated level 25 sets Eagle Eye, Elder, and Radiant Paladin.

Use the same reset approach: place the Flame Altar short of the chest’s protected radius, loot the chest, leave to the main menu, and reload. Take care around the deadly fog when approaching the area.

Hollow Halls option

Hollow Halls contains two end-room chests for each class. These gold or silver chests can contain either a weapon or an armor piece and require Ectoplasm instead of a lockpick. This is an additional source of valuable gear, but it is not the same quick chest loop as the hidden cave. Stock up on Ectoplasm before entering if you plan to open the end-room chests.

Important farming details

  • Enshrouded does not assign Legendary armor to specific named bosses according to the supplied loot information; the valuable targets are chests.
  • Matching all five pieces of a set does not grant an additional set bonus. Mix pieces if a better-quality item drops.
  • Quality controls how many rune slots an armor piece can unlock. Legendary gear therefore has greater upgrade potential than lower-quality versions.
  • Take armor to the appropriate artisan to use runes: the Blacksmith for Warrior gear, the Hunter or Huntress for Ranger gear, and the Alchemist for Mage gear.
