Fixer play in Beta Earth: Sovereignty Next comes down to picking the right tool at the right moment. Combat Stimulant is the ability you reach for when your health bar is not full and you can afford to stand still long enough to complete the commitment; Chemical Edge is the alternative, granting a short-lived offensive boost instead. Because the heal only pays off if you actually finish the channel, the class rewards a small amount of forward planning. Perception does not increase the size of the heal, and you remain a valid target throughout the recovery window, so breaking line of sight or putting distance between yourself and the enemy before committing is often the difference between surviving and being punished. A plain, functional weapon should always be equipped so you have a way to close out the encounter if your ability is unavailable or the situation is too dangerous to channel.

Choosing between the two abilities

Think of the pair as answers to separate questions. Combat Stimulant answers lost health; Chemical Edge answers a need for short-term damage. Mixing them up wastes both.

Combat Stimulant

  • Trigger it only when your health is genuinely depleted and you have a safe window to recover.
  • Perception has no effect on the amount restored, so do not build around it for healing.
  • You can still take hits while recovering — retreat behind cover or create distance first.
  • If the window is unsafe, stay on your ordinary weapon and keep fighting.

Chemical Edge

  • Use it for brief attack support, not as a replacement for recovery.
  • It is most valuable when pressing an advantage or finishing a weakened target.
  • Keep a reliable standard weapon ready so the encounter can end without the ability.

Mode-specific timing

  • Second Chances has slower combat recovery and preparation than other modes.
  • Read that mode's own ability help and the ROUNDTIME indicator instead of importing a timing figure from elsewhere.
  • A number that works in one mode will not necessarily work in another.

Preparation sequence

  1. Make sure a working ordinary weapon is equipped.
  2. Look at your current health before deciding between Combat Stimulant and Chemical Edge.
  3. Find a safe spot or moment to channel the recovery, remembering you are vulnerable during it.
  4. In Second Chances, consult the ROUNDTIME display and the mode's ability help rather than another mode's timing.
  5. Decide in advance how the fight ends if the ability cannot finish it.

Your recovery versus companion aid

Fixing yourself, repairing gear, and helping a partner are three different jobs. Only Combat Stimulant restores your own health; Chemical Edge supplies temporary attack support. In Sovereignty, COMPANION AID uses one carried med gel to restore up to 12 companion integrity over a three-second commitment. It can also bring a downed companion back, and it does not spend gel if the companion is already at full integrity. Check your partner's condition before acting. You have a single active field companion, and swapping companions does not clear their injuries, so solve the problem in front of you and then reassess.
